Pep Guardiola and the Manchester City board will convene this week to discuss potential new signings for the January transfer window, after the club’s 1-1 draw with Everton.

The result marks a dismal run of one win in City’s last 13 matches, with several key players sidelined due to injury.

Notably, Rodri is out for the season, while Oscar Bobb is also facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Jack Grealish, Ruben Dias, John Stones, Ederson, and Matheus Nunes are currently unavailable, and Kyle Walker missed the Everton match due to illness.

When questioned about the possibility of short-term signings to alleviate the crisis, Guardiola acknowledged the need for reinforcements.

“Even the players [think]: ‘Oh, we have to add some players,’ but the truth is, this season we have a lot [of problems]. And this is a problem,” he said.

“Eight important players are [out]. And [Ilkay] Gündogan was not ready today [to start]. And Kevin [De Bruyne] was not ready for 90 minutes. And maybe should have come on earlier.

“But yes, we have this situation. It’s been a long time. And of course, you have to talk with the club and the club will decide. We have to try because this is sustained for a long time.”
