Wolverhampton Wanderers fight to beat the drop took another big boost as the Wolves beat Liverpool at the Molineaux.
Wolves came into the tie on confidence on the back of the win against Aston Villa on Friday night, and Rob Edwards’ men repeated the same feat on Liverpool.
After a cagey first half, Wolves got energised at full moon in front of a supercharged fans at the Molineux in the second half with the introduction of Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Yerson Mosquera, and Super Eagles striker, Tolu Arokodare.
Rodrigo Gomes put the host ahead in the 78th minute from Arokodare’s brilliant hold-up play as he lifted the ball over Alisson, who was off his line.
A few minutes later, Mohammed Salah scored his first Premier League goal in over 10 matches with a brilliant individual effort.
However, Andre gave Wolves the win off a deflected shot in the fourth minute of added time to throw the fans at the Molineaux into a crazy frenzy
Despite back-to-back wins, Wolverhampton Wanderers remain bottom of the Premier League table with 16 points after 30 matches.
