Piotr Zielinski scored a 90th-minute winner to give Inter Milan a narrow win over Juventus in a dramatic and seemingly controversial Derby d’Italia at the San Siro.
The Polish striker powered a low left-footed strike into the bottom corner in the 92nd minute to help the Nerazurri overcome 10-man Juventus.
Italian defender, Andrea Cambiasso put the ball in his own net to give Inter Milan the opener in the 17th minute.
Fortunately, the 25-year-old redeemed his error a few minutes later as he grabbed the equaliser becoming the first player in the history of the Serie A to score an own goal and a goal in the same match.
Juventus found themselves reduced to 10-men after French defender Pierre Kalulu received a second booking within 10 minutes after he appeared to have tripped Bastoni.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Juventus started the second half as the better side as Yan Sommer denied Cambiasso from putting the visitors ahead before stopping Fabio Miretti’s goal-bound strike.
Francesco Pio Esposito put Inter Milan ahead in the 75th minute with a header into the right post from Federico DiMarco’s brilliant cross into the box.
With seven minutes left on the clock, Weston McKennie teed up Locatelli in the box and the Italian midfielder made no mistake as he found the bottom left corner of the goal.
The host piled up the pressure on Juventus in the final stages and the Old Lady bowed eventually as Piotr Zielinski rifled home a low drive from range to seal a pulsating win for Inter Milan in the 255th Derby d’Italia.
Inter Milan are now unbeaten in 13 matches in the Serie A with a six-game winning streak as Christian Chivu’s men go eight points clear at the top of the Serie A.
