3 Key Things to Watch in the North London Derby

Tomorrow’s North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham is set to be a chaotic and unpredictable affair, heavily influenced by key battles and severe injury woes on both sides.

1. The Defensive Injury Crisis

Both Mikel Arteta and Thomas Frank are facing a selection nightmare, with reports suggesting up to 20 players could be unavailable across both squads. For Arsenal, the absence of defensive leader Gabriel Magalhães (thigh injury) is a massive blow, likely forcing a new center-back pairing.

Spurs also have major injuries, but their defensive unit, featuring Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, has been the bedrock of their impressive away form. The makeshift defenses will be under immense pressure.

2. The Set-Piece Showdown

This match pits the Premier League’s most prolific set-piece attack against its most resolute set-piece defense. Arsenal lead the league in goals scored from dead-ball situations (10), while Tottenham have conceded the fewest (just 2).

With the game expected to be tight and potentially decided by small margins, who wins the battle from corners and free-kicks—especially with Gabriel out—will be pivotal.

3. Saka vs. Udogie

The clash on Arsenal’s right flank will be electrifying. Bukayo Saka has an excellent record in this fixture, with four goal contributions in his last four NLD appearances.
