3 reasons Man United can defeat Liverpool in tomorrow’s PL clash

Manchester United may enter tomorrow’s Premier League clash at Anfield as underdogs, but there are clear, fact-based reasons they can upset Liverpool.

1. Liverpool’s Defence Is Vulnerable

Liverpool will again be without first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker due to a hamstring injury. His absence weakens their stability at the back.

The defensive issues run deeper: Liverpool have gone six straight matches without a clean sheet and have conceded nine league goals in that period — the most among the Premier League’s current top nine.

United’s pace and ability to counter quickly could expose that fragility, especially if Liverpool’s high defensive line is left unprotected.

2. United Have Freshness and Momentum

Manchester United come into the match off a 2–0 league victory against Sunderland, and the international break has allowed several key players to recover and reset. The squad looks sharper and has shown more cohesion in attack.

When United stay compact and break with purpose, they can capitalise on defensive errors — something Liverpool have been prone to in recent weeks.

3. Psychological Edge of the Rivalry

This rivalry often ignores form and status. United benefit from being viewed as the underdog, with less pressure and more freedom to take risks.

Liverpool, on the other hand, were on a run of three straight defeats in all competitions before the break, which adds pressure to perform. In emotionally charged fixtures like this, belief, discipline and intensity can tilt the balance, and United have shown they can rise to the occasion in big games.

Anfield has not been a happy hunting ground for Manchester United in recent years, and Liverpool’s attack remains dangerous even when the defence struggles.

United’s inconsistency this season is also a factor they must overcome. But if they manage the game intelligently and strike early, the opportunity for an upset is genuine.

Liverpool’s current vulnerabilities, combined with United’s renewed momentum and the psychology of the rivalry, give Manchester United a real shot at victory.
