Manchester United’s horrendous form continued with a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle at Old Trafford, marking their fourth consecutive loss across all competitions.
The team’s struggles have raised concerns about their ability to adapt to manager Ruben Amorim’s preferred 3-4-3 formation, particularly the lack of offensive quality from wing-backs Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui.

However, Amorim has dashed hopes of a January rescue, admitting that significant additions to the squad are unlikely. “We don’t have that possibility in January,” Amorim told reporters.
“You know the situation better than I [do]. It’s not the case I am not arriving here and I can spend a lot of money, changing all the team.
“I think know the situation so it’s not a point to talk about it.”
With a daunting set of fixtures on the horizon, including trips to Anfield and the Emirates to face Arsenal in the FA Cup, United’s squad weaknesses are likely to be exposed further.
