Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly ready to sell up to eight players this summer.
According to The Sun, some of the club’s highest earners are expected to leave including the ineffective Jack Grealish, and club captain Kevin De Bruyne.
The duo could be joined by Bernardo Silva, John Stones, Mateo Kovacic, Ilkay Gundogan, and goalkeeper Ederson.
Kyle Walker, who is currently on loan at AC Milan, will also depart permanently.
Guardiola wants to refresh his squad after a poor defence of their Premier League title and early elimination from the Champions League.
Since Guardiola arrived at the Etihad in 2016, City have been the dominant force in English football. But the group of players that has achieved unprecedented success looks set to be broken up.
All of the players listed to be sold are aged 30 or older bar Grealish, who reaches that age in September.
City have already looked to address the issue by bringing in four players aged 26 or less in January, but it appears they believe there is much more work to do.
