Former Manchester United defender, Patrice Evra has once again stirred controversy with a viral video mocking Arsenal following their 2-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the Champions League semi-final, resulting in a 3-1 aggregate loss.
In the video, Evra expresses mock sympathy for Arsenal, stating, “I feel sorry for Arsenal, I think people are being really hard on them. I love Arteta anyway, he is a good friend.”
He goes on to criticize Arsenal fans, suggesting they are overly optimistic: “People have no problem with Arsenal players. People have a problem with their fans – they believe anything.”
Evra also revisits his earlier comparison of Arsenal to Netflix, quipping, “We talk about Netflix — Netflix season 21 is on its way I think they started recording.”
Adding to the mockery, Evra uses a vivid analogy to describe Arsenal’s repeated failures: “Imagine you have a good time with your wife or your girlfriend… and the moment you are about to put some seed, someone grabs you.
“It’s really painful and you get really frustrated because you want to make a Premier League or a Champions League baby but it’s always the same story.”
The video quickly went viral, amassing nearly 2 million views within 12 hours.
Arsenal’s loss to PSG extends their trophy drought to five years under manager Mikel Arteta. Despite improvements since Arteta’s appointment in 2019, the club has yet to secure major silverware.
With their Champions League hopes dashed, Arsenal now turns their focus to securing second place in the Premier League, while PSG advances to face Inter Milan in the Champions League final.
Evra’s latest jabs have reignited discussions about Arsenal’s struggles and the expectations of their fanbase.
