Tottenham are reportedly looking to hijack Chelsea’s long-standing pursuit of RB Leipzig’s highly rated attacking midfielder, Xavi Simons.
The 22-year-old Dutch international has been a key target for Chelsea throughout the summer, with personal terms reportedly agreed upon.

However, Chelsea’s delay in finalizing a deal with Leipzig, reportedly due to their focus on offloading players, has opened the door for their North London rivals.
Spurs, keen to bolster their creative options after recent injury setbacks to creative stars James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, have now officially submitted a substantial offer to Leipzig, reportedly around €70 million.
Simons is currently in London for transfer talks, and while Chelsea remain keen on getting a deal over the line, Tottenham’s aggressive approach could see them secure one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.
Meanwhile, the Blues remain in talks for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, who has been told he can leave Old Trafford by manager Ruben Amorim. Garnacho has made it clear he will only entertain a move to Chelsea, and both parties are keen to make a deal happen before the transfer deadline.
