Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has claimed that Manchester City could significantly impact the Premier League title race if they manage to beat Arsenal on Sunday.
The comments come after a mixed start to the season for Pep Guardiola’s side, who finished last season trophyless for the first time in eight years.

After an opening-day 4-0 win at Wolves, City suffered back-to-back defeats against Tottenham and Brighton before securing a crucial victory over Manchester United last weekend. Neville believes a win against Mikel Arteta’s in-form side is the perfect opportunity for City to prove their title credentials.
A Chance to ‘Shake Things Up’
Speaking on his podcast, Neville said a win at the Emirates would be a major statement. “I think it’s a tougher game for City than it is for Arsenal, but for City, if you really want to let people know that you’re back in the title race, and you really want to shake it up, then go and win,” he said.
Neville believes that victory would have a ripple effect across the league. “Go and win at the Emirates next Sunday, because that will sort of shake things up and rock things a little bit.”
The rivalry between Arsenal and Manchester City has intensified in recent years, with Arteta’s side consistently challenging for the title. With Arsenal starting the season strongly and City still finding their rhythm, the match is being framed as a pivotal early-season clash that could define both teams’ campaigns.
