In Cameroon, Colombe held Algerian powerhouse MC Alger to a 1–1 draw, while Guinea’s Horoya AC shared the same scoreline with FAR Rabat of Morocco in a tightly contested affair.
Tanzanian side Simba SC began their campaign impressively, defeating Nsingizini Hotspurs 3–0 in Eswatini to take a commanding advantage into the return leg. Meanwhile, Power Dynamos of Zambia edged Vipers SC 2–1 in Uganda, thanks to a composed late winner that capped an entertaining contest.
