Not worried about title race – Liverpool boss Slot focused on Man City clash

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has claimed he is not focused on the Premier League title race ahead of their trip to Manchester City on Sunday.

The Reds became champions again in Slot’s first season at Anfield, following his replacement of Jürgen Klopp.
However, their title defence has proved a difficult challenge, as a run of four consecutive defeats saw them lose ground.

Liverpool travel to the Etihad seven points behind leaders Arsenal, while City sit between the two sides, six points adrift of the Gunners.

Arsenal are away to Sunderland a day before Liverpool and City face each other, and could widen the gap before the international break.

Next up: Liverpool 👊

“I only focus on ourselves and our main focus is on consistency at the moment,” Slot said at his pre-match press conference.

“We have lost a few games, much more than we usually do. Now we have won two.

“So our focus is on improving and getting players fit, and we’ll see where that leads to, but at this moment in time, the league table is definitely not the only focus we have.”
