Premier League side Crystal Palace are reportedly open to letting Chrisantus Uche go on loan in January, according to reports.
Christantus Uche joined the reigning FA Cup champions on loan from Getafe on the last day of the summer transfer window with an obligation to buy for €20m.
Uche came to the South London club on quite a high note after his impressive outing at the Spanish club over the last 18 months.
However, Uche has struggled to settle into Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace set-up, which has, in turn, limited his game time at the club.
Christantus Uche has only played three Premier League matches and a couple of appearances in Cup games so far.
His deal involves a mandatory buy clause if he plays 10 Premier League matches, but the clause is unlikely to be triggered with the performance of the player.
Club sources say Crystal Palace are willing to “assess the situation” and prefer a solution that will suit the player and the two clubs.
Christantus Uche’s lack of game time has also affected his appearance in the national team. The midfielder was not in Eric Chelle’s team for the World Cup playoffs against Gabon and DR Congo.
With the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations set to kick off next month in Morocco, Christantus Uche’s chances of making it to Chelle’s team for the tournament are marginal.
