Former Super Eagles winger Victor Moses joined officials from Chelsea FC on a courtesy visit to Oba Saheed Elegushi in Lagos as part of the club’s ongoing engagement activities in Nigeria.
The meeting, held at the palace of the Elegushi royal family, formed another major highlight of Chelsea’s historic visit to Nigeria and focused on football development, youth empowerment, and strengthening ties between the London club and Nigerian supporters.
Victor Moses, who remains one of the most celebrated Nigerian players to feature for Chelsea, played a central role during the visit. The former winger was warmly received by the monarch and members of the royal household, with discussions reportedly centred around the growth of grassroots football and opportunities for young Nigerian talents.
The visit also showed Chelsea’s recognition of Nigeria’s massive football culture and passionate fanbase. Lagos has long been regarded as one of the strongest international support bases for the Premier League club, with thousands of supporters closely following the team across generations.
Victor Moses remains a respected figure among Chelsea supporters after helping the club win the Premier League title under Antonio Conte during the 2016/17 season. His connection with Nigerian fans has made him one of the most influential football ambassadors linking European clubs with African audiences.
