Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has made history after becoming the first African artist to headline an NFL international halftime show, delivering a high-energy performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
The Mavin Records singer performed during the NFL London Game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars, taking the stage at halftime in front of fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Starr opened her set with Heaven Baby before performing some of her popular hits, including Rush and Hot Body. She also delivered a medley featuring Santa and Dangerous, drawing from her growing catalogue and recently released third studio album, Starrgirl.
Dressed in a striking purple corseted top and black skirt, the singer commanded the stage with her energetic performance and powerful vocals, bringing Afrobeats to one of American football’s biggest international events.
The appearance was part of the NFL’s 2026 International Series, which featured a record seven halftime shows across the season. The performance was also broadcast live in the United Kingdom on Channel 5 and Sky Sports, extending its reach beyond the stadium.
Following the show, clips of Starr’s performance circulated across social media, with fans celebrating her appearance and the visibility it brought to African music on a major global sporting platform.
