Alex Iwobi

Alex Iwobi fired Fulham to their first Premier League win of the season on Saturday, as the Cottagers beat Hull City 1-0 at Craven Cottage.

Iwobi struck in the 33rd minute to settle a one-sided contest. Fulham controlled 78 per cent of possession and had 13 shots, five of them on target. Hull managed four shots, none on target, and Bernd Leno had little to do.

Fulham finished with ten men after a stoppage-time red card but held on, and they travel to Coventry City next Saturday.

Alex Iwobi is among only five players in the history of the Premier League have 100+ appearances for three different clubs in the league.

Manchester City stretched their winning run to seven straight matches with a 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town at the Etihad. Erling Haaland hit a brace and Phil Foden added the other goal as Pep Guardiola’s side beat a determined Ipswich team that scored twice.

City have won every league game this season and became only the third team in Premier League history to win their first seven. The victory followed their 3-0 win at Anfield last weekend.

Liverpool came from behind to beat Brentford 2-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium. Keane Lewis-Potter headed the hosts ahead in the 44th minute from Igor Thiago’s cross. Yehor Yarmolyuk then saw red for headbutting Jeremy Jacquet in first-half stoppage time.

Liverpool made the extra man count. Victor Munoz levelled in the 62nd minute with a low finish after Florian Wirtz set him up. Alexander Isak, back from injury, struck the winner in the 70th minute, finishing a move Bradley Barcola started. Vitaly Janelt’s second yellow card left Brentford with nine men and ended their unbeaten start to the season.

Pedro Neto scored twice as Chelsea won 2-0 at Everton. He broke the deadlock a minute into the second half and sealed the victory with a goal in stoppage time.

Arsenal visit Nottingham Forest, Manchester United face Leeds United and Brighton host Crystal Palace tomorrow.
