Carlos Alcaraz defended his French Open title with a stunning comeback as he saved three match points and fought from two sets down to beat Jannik Sinner 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 7-6(2).
Alcaraz was broken twice as the world No. 1 started in strong fashion on Court Philippe-Chatrier, and Alcaraz went two sets behind after being edged out of the second-set tiebreak.

The 21-year-old, though, recovered to chalk up three breaks in the third set and avoid a clean sweep.
He continued to build upon his momentum in a tense fourth with both holding their serve until Sinner found a breakthrough for a 5-3 lead. Alcaraz saved three championship points before breaking the Italian, who was serving for the match, and won the tiebreak to dramatically level the match.
After the Spaniard’s early break in the fifth set was canceled out for 5-5, it was Alcaraz who sealed victory in the championship tiebreak, racking up a 7-0 advantage and eventually winning it 10-2.
It is Alcaraz’s fifth Grand Slam title and his second at the French Open, while this win is his first comeback from two sets down in his career.
