Alexander Isak is training alone at his former club Real Sociedad, as speculation surrounds his future at Newcastle United.
The 25-year-old Swedish striker was excluded from Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia due to a reported “minor” thigh issue.
Sources told BBC Sport that Isak is using Real Sociedad’s training facilities outside of first-team hours, with the Spanish club granting his request to do so.

Isak, who joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad for £60m in 2022, is keen to explore a move away, with Liverpool among the clubs interested in the former Borussia Dortmund forward. Newcastle have not received a formal bid for the striker, who scored 27 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions last season.
Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe addressed the situation, stating, “[Isak] is still our player. He’s contracted to us. We, to some extent, control what comes next for him.
“I would love to believe all possibilities are still available to us. My wish is that he stays, but that’s not in my full control.
“We have not received a formal offer for Alex from any club.”
