Carlo Ancelotti has defended Kylian Mbappe after his penalty miss in Real Madrid’s 2-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

The French star missed a second half penalty to bring the reigning champions level after Alexis Mac Allister opener.

The Italian manager said Mbappe has the support of everyone at the club and he’s adapting well.

“Mbappé has all of our support and he will soon turn the situation around” 👊🏻

Jude Bellingham also added that Mbappe’s penalty miss is the reason why Real Madrid lost the game.

Instead, the champions lost because Liverpool were the better side on the night.

“Mbappé penalty? It happens. The penalty miss is not the reason we lost. We weren’t good enough as a collective, they played better”.

Real Madrid’s loss at Anfield put the champions in a very difficult spot as they risk missing out of qualifying for the next round with three games to go in the league format.
