The NWSL playoff journey of Super Falcons of Nigeria star Asisat Oshoala has come to an end.
Oshoala chose to join Bay FC from Barcelona for their first season in the NWSL.
Bay FC faced the top-seeded Washington Spirit after securing one of the playoff positions.
Due to both teams being defensive, there were no goals in the first half.
In the 82nd minute, Bay FC took the lead as Hocking found Oshoala, who finished the cross.
Tara McKeown of the Washington Spirit tied the score in the 86th minute. After ninety minutes, the game was tied, and extra time was played.
Caprice Dydasco scored the game-winning own goal in the 96th minute.
The result means Bay FC was eliminated from the NWSL playoffs and Washington Spirit advanced to the semifinals.
When they play the Les Bleues of France, Oshoala, absent from the Super Falcons for the friendlies against Algeria returns to the team.
