Barcelona beaten late by PSG as Juventus slip and Arsenal stay perfect in Europe

Europe’s biggest stage crackled with tension and intent as the Champions League returned under the floodlights, delivering a night rich in drama, defiance and late twists.

Paris Saint-Germain pulled off the biggest result of the evening with a stunning 2–1 comeback away to Barcelona. Ferran Torres had given the hosts the lead with a tidy first-half finish, but despite missing several key players, PSG refused to fold.

Youngster Senny Mayulu equalised before halftime after a driving run from Nuno Mendes, and in stoppage time Achraf Hakimi squared the ball for Gonçalo Ramos to tap in the winner, silencing the home crowd and delivering a statement victory.

In Turin, Juventus let victory slip away in a 2–2 draw with Villarreal. The visitors struck first through Georges Mikautadze, but Juve turned the game around early in the second half thanks to a spectacular overhead kick from Federico Gatti and a composed strike by Francisco Conceição.

However, Villarreal refused to quit and were rewarded in the 90th minute when Renato Veiga headed in from a corner to snatch a point.

Arsenal continued their perfect start to the group stage with a controlled 2–0 win over Olympiacos at the Emirates. Gabriel Martinelli pounced on a rebound to open the scoring inside 12 minutes, and although Olympiacos threatened late and had a goal ruled out, the Gunners stayed in control. Bukayo Saka finished off a counterattack in stoppage time to seal the result.

Elsewhere, Manchester City and Monaco played out a high-tempo 2–2 draw, with Erling Haaland scoring twice before City were pegged back by a late penalty.
