Benin Republic have finally won a game at the Africa Cup of Nations ending a two- decade wait spanning about 15 AFCON tournaments.
Led by former Super Eagles of Nigeria coach, Gernot Rohr, the Cheetahs earned their first-ever win with a slim victory over Botswana.
Yohan Roche, the left-back scored the only goal of the game in the 28th minute to give Benin Republic the historic win.
Having lost their first match to DR Congo by the same margin, the Cheetars now stand a chance of qualifying for the second round of the competition when they take on Senegal in their last group match on Tuesday.
Benin Republic will have to step-up their performance against the Terenga Lions who have won seven of their last nine meetings against the Cheetahs.
