Brentford ended their three-game winless run with a convincing win over Brighton at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Camerounian striker Bryan Mbuemo put the Brentford ahead with a sublime left-footed strike just nine minutes into the match.
Former Manchester United and Arsenal striker striker Danny Welbeck had his penalty claim waved off moments later but grabbed the equalizer for the visitors just before the break.
Welbeck directed a header from Mats Weifer’s cross into the back of the net to register his eighth Premier League goal of the season.
Bryan Mbuemo restored the lead for the home side three minutes into the second half with another goal which deflected into the goal.
Mbuemo returned the favour to Yoan Wissa a few moments later as the DRC forward increased the lead to 3-1.
Things got bad for Brighton’s as Joao Pedro picked up a red card to reduce the Seagulls to 10 men with more than half hour of football to play.
Kaoru Mitoma reduced the deficit with less than 10 minutes to the end of regular time but Brentford were not done scoring.
Christian Norgaard directed Mathias Jensen’s cross into the box with a header into the back of the net as the match ended 4-2.
