Brighton And Hove Albion extended Tottenham Hotspur’s winless streak to 15 matches in the Premier League as relegation continues to close in on the North London side.
The Seagulls stopped the hosts from getting maximum points late in the match on Saturday evening.
Tottenham Hotspur came into the tie looking for their first win 15 Premier League matches after the loss to Sunderland last week.
Pedro Porto put the hosts ahead after 39 minutes but the lasted a few minutes as Kaoru Mitoma equalised just before the break.
Georgino Rutter came in 15 minutes to the end of the match and scored in the fifth minute of added time to draw the visitors level.
Xavi Simmons had earlier scored a fantastic goal from the edge of the box to give Roberto De Zerbi’s men what appeared to be the winner.
The Dutch midfielder powered a right-footed strike from edge of the box which bounced off the woodwork before landing at the back of the net.
However, the Lilywhites surrendered their lead in the 95th minute as they remain 18th on the Premier League table with five matches left.
The French forward beautifully controlled a slightly overhit pass from the Van Hecke in the box, moved pass his marker before rifling the ball into the top corner.
Tottenham Hotspur are up against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Midlands next week as Roberto De Zerbi hopes to rescue the Lilywhites from relegation.
