Manchester United’s midfielder Bruno Fernandes is one assist away from equalling the most assists in a Premier League season.
Bruno Fernandes moved closer to equalling the record on Monday night after Manchester United’s win over Brentford at Old Trafford.
Fernandes clocked 19 assists after he provided the assist to Benjamin Sesko’s 10th goal of the season.
The Portuguese midfielder is now on3 assist away from equalling Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry’s record of 20 assists in a season with four matches left.
Fernandes is the first Manchester United player to score or assist in seven consecutive Premier League appearances since Robin van Persie did so in 10 successive games between November 2012 and January 2013.
The former Sporting Lisbon midfielder is two assists away from breaking the record with Liverpool, Sunderland, Nottingham Forest and Brighton and Hove Albion left to play before the season ends.
