Nigeria’s Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been shortlisted among the final nominees for the prestigious 2024 CAF Women’s Player of the Year award.
She is joined by Zambia’s prolific forward, Barbara Banda, and Morocco’s talented midfielder, Sanna Mssoudy.
Nnadozie, who is also in contention for the Goalkeeper of the Year award, will be looking to make history by succeeding her compatriot, Asisat Oshoala, who won the award last year.
The 24-year-old was outstanding for Nigeria at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, showcasing her exceptional goalkeeping skills and cementing her position as one of Africa’s top female goalkeepers.
Adding to Nigeria’s strong representation, Chiamaka Okwuchukwu, a rising star from Rivers Angels, has been shortlisted for Young Player of the Year, joining four other promising talents from Morocco, Egypt, and South Africa.
The Super Falcons are among the contenders for Women’s National Team of the Year, competing with Morocco, South Africa, Zambia, and Cameroon U-20.
