Despite being a man down for over an hour, Pafos’s defence remained resolute, leaving goalkeeper David Luiz with a clean sheet.
Olympiacos dominated possession but failed to convert their chances, allowing the visitors to earn a crucial point in their group stage opener.
Meanwhile, in Prague, Bodo/Glimt staged a spirited comeback to earn a point against Slavia Prague in a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Slavia had taken a comfortable lead, but a late surge from the Norwegian side saw them pull a goal back. The final minutes were tense, with Bodo/Glimt missing a penalty before scoring a last-gasp equaliser to cap off a remarkable comeback.
Both sides will be happy to start their Champions League campaign with a point in what was a fiercely contested match.
