Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has emerged as a potential transfer target for Turkish giants Galatasaray, according to recent reports.
Bassey has significantly redeemed his career over the last two years, establishing himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League following a difficult spell at Ajax. His solid campaign last season saw him named Fulham’s Player of the Year at Craven Cottage.

Despite his excellent form, last summer was quiet for the 25-year-old, with no clubs expressing serious interest. However, that appears to be changing.
Per Pesindeyiz Galatasaray, Bassey has now been identified as a target for Galatasaray in the upcoming January transfer window. The reigning Turkish Super Lig champions are actively seeking a left-footed centre-back, with their primary target being AC Milan’s Strahinja Mihalovic. Should that deal fall through, Bassey is reportedly their backup plan.
Given Galatasaray’s recent success in the transfer market as they push to defend their title and make a deep run in the UEFA Champions League, the club can comfortably afford Bassey. The Nigerian international is expected to be valued at around €40 million.
