The second night of the UEFA Champions League league phase produced 24 goals across six matches, with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain recording emphatic victories while Liverpool and Arsenal secured hard-fought wins.

Barcelona 5-1 Feyenoord

Barcelona made a strong start at Camp Nou, cruising to a 5-1 victory over Feyenoord.

Raphinha scored twice, while Karim Adeyemi marked his first Champions League appearance for Barcelona with a goal. Lamine Yamal also found the net before substitute Gabriel Jesus, who joined from Arsenal, headed in Barcelona’s fifth.

Sem Steijn scored Feyenoord’s consolation, but the Dutch side were unable to threaten a Barcelona team that had already established a commanding lead before half-time.

VfB Stuttgart 3-1 Viking

Ermedin Demirović produced one of the night’s standout individual performances, scoring a first-half hat-trick as Stuttgart defeated Viking 3-1.

Demirović struck in the 20th, 26th and 32nd minutes after Zlatko Tripic had briefly brought Viking level.

Paris Saint-Germain 6-1 Slovan Bratislava

Champions League

The defending champions began their title defence in emphatic fashion with a 6-1 demolition of Slovan Bratislava.

Ousmane Dembélé scored twice inside the opening 23 minutes before Ferran Torres completed a hat-trick with goals in the 31st, 47th and 57th minutes.

Suleiman Camara pulled one back for Slovan, while Fabián Ruiz added PSG’s sixth late in the game.

Sporting CP 3-1 Galatasaray

Sporting CP recovered from an early setback to beat Galatasaray 3-1 in Lisbon.

Gonçalo Inácio’s own goal gave Galatasaray the advantage, but Geny Catamo restored parity before Luis Suárez converted from the penalty spot.

Rodrigo Zalazar added a third to complete the comeback for the Portuguese side.

Napoli 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal secured one of the night’s most valuable results with a narrow 1-0 victory away to Napoli.

After a closely contested encounter with few clear chances, Martin Ødegaard broke the deadlock in the 75th minute, finishing a move involving substitute Christos Tzolis.

The result gives Mikel Arteta’s side three points from a difficult away fixture, while Napoli were left to rue their missed opportunities.
