Spanish club Deportivo La Coruña has officially announced the signing of Nigerian international Blessing Nkor. The 21-year-old forward joins the team on a loan deal that will keep her at Estadio Abanca-Riazor until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Nkor began her professional career with the Nigerian Women’s Premier League side, Sunshine Queens showcasing her potential as a promising talent. In September 2022, she moved to the Tanzanian club, Yanga Princesses further developing her skills and gaining international experience. Blessing Nkor has represented Nigeria at various levels. She was a key member of the country’s women’s U-20 team from 2022 to 2023. Nkor made her debut for the Super Falcons, Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, in a friendly match against France last November.
Nkor’s addition to Deportivo La Coruña is expected to bolster their attacking options. Her versatility and goal-scoring ability will provide a fresh impetus to their campaign as they aim to climb up the league table.
Expressing her excitement, Nkor shared on social media: “A new chapter has begun, a new story is being written, a new home and family I have found. This can only be God, grateful beyond words.”
