D’Tigers unveils 12-man roaster for 2025 Afrobasket

Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers have announced their roaster for the 2025 Afrobasket Championship in Angola.

Following a week of preparation in Abuja, coach Mohammed have picked the twelve players that would represent the country at the tournament.

The list consists of a couple of Olympians: Caleb Agada, Ike Nwamu, Stan Okoye and Houston Rockets’ Josh Okogie who returns to the team for the first time since 2023.

Players dropped from the squad include Kareem Joseph, Mohamed AbdulSalam and Fola Folayemi. Peter Olisemeka was also didn’t make the squad after being declared ineligible.

  • Josh Okogie
  •  Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu
  •  Talib Zanna
  •  Stan Okoye

  •  Emmanuel Omogbo
  • Ike Nwamu
  • Caleb Agada

D’Tigers will compete in Group B alongside defending champions Tunisia, Madagascar, and Cameroon. Nigeria will take on Madagascar in their first match of the competition on 13th August before facing Tunisia and Cameroon. subsequently

Nigeria will look to better their second place finish at the 2017 edition of the competition where they lost 77-65 to Tunisia.
