Nigeria have unveiled a 16-player roster for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup qualifying tournament, with the D’Tigress set to compete in Lyon-Villeurbanne, France from March 11.
The list, released ahead of the global qualifying window, mixes experienced internationals with emerging talents as the African champions aim to secure a ticket to the 2026 World Cup in Germany.
Among the notable inclusions are Promise Amukamara, Elizabeth Balogun, Nicole Enabosi and Amy Okonkwo, all of whom have featured prominently for Nigeria in recent major tournaments. They are joined by Blessing Ejiofor, Grace Efosa, Victoria Macaulay and Murjanatu Musa, reinforcing a squad that retains much of its core from previous continental successes.
Rita Igbokwe, Ezinne Kalu, Pallas Kunayi, Ifunaya Okoro, Adenike Olawuyi, Ayomide Tewogbade, Sarah Ogoke, Wandoo Hembam and Idubamo Beggi complete the roster list announced for the trip to France.
Nigeria, widely regarded as the dominant force in African women’s basketball in recent years, will compete in the qualifying tournament in Lyon-Villeurbanne as part of the road to Germany 2026. The team is seeking to maintain its presence on the global stage after impressive outings at recent AfroBasket and World Cup competitions.
