Eric Chelle reveals how Super Eagles will beat Morocco

Super Eagles manager says he’s likely to tweak his approach when Nigeria take on the Atlas Lions of Morocco in the semi-final of the Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday night.

The Franco-Malian hinted he might approach the heavyweight clash with teo two different styles – one for the first half and the other for the second half.

Eric Chelle shared his thoughts in a pre-match press conference alongside Fulham midfielder, Alex Iwobi who accompanied him to chat with the media.

Eric added that he sensed his players are tired with the way they outclassed the Algerians reducing the Desert Foxes with no shot on target.

“I’ve noticed that my group is tired; it might be time for me to adjust my approach. We might perhaps leave the ball to Morocco and wait for them. We saw that they have difficulties when they play under pressure.”

“We’ll start that way, I think. We’ll hold on in the first half and try to play our game in the second half.”

While the Super Eagles brushed Algeria aside on the quarter-finals with a 2-0 win, Morocco’s 1-0 over Cameroon was marred by poor refereeing decisions.

The semi-final tie between Nigeria and Morocco is a repeat of the 1980 clash as the “Green Eagles” beat the Atlas Lions 1-0 in Lagos to reach the final which they won.
