Flying Eagles set for WAFU U-20 Championship

Head coach of the Flying Eagles, Aliyu Zubairu, has voiced confidence in his team’s readiness for the 2024 WAFU B U-20 Championship.

According to Zubairu, he is well-prepared for the challenge having researched Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso, their opponents in the group stage.

Zubairu said his side is up for the task ahead of the tournament’s opening match.

Following their arrival in Lome on Tuesday, the Flying Eagles held their final practice before the game on Wednesday afternoon.

Nigeria is under additional pressure to maintain their title defense because they are the reigning champions of the WAFU B U-20 Championship.

The showdown between the reigning champions and the Young Stallions will begin on Thursday at 3 p.m. local time at the Stade Municipal in Lome.
