Galatasaray President Dursun Ozbek has hinted that the Turkish giants could make a sensational move for Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi, potentially affording the 38-year-old superstar more competitive playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Ozbek suggested that Galatasaray’s recent success in the transfer market and their strong financial position would allow them to realistically pursue a player of Messi’s caliber.
“Did you say Messi? Galatasaray’s most successful point is the transfers it has made,” Ozbek is quoted as saying by Fanatik.

He expressed confidence in the club’s ability to attract the Argentine legend. “We have raised the level of success to a high level, so you can easily ask the Messi question.”
Ozbek stressed that any pursuit of such a high-profile player must fit within the club’s financial strategy.
“While doing all this, we have achieved a good financial situation and we are not doing anything that will disrupt this. All the work we do, all of it has to stay within our financial capacity.”
