Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks to victory in the NBA Cup on Tuesday, defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 97-81 in Las Vegas.
The Nigerian Freak led the charge with an impressive triple-double, consisting of 26 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Damian Lillard contributed 23 points, while Brook Lopez and Gary Trent Jr. each added 13 points for the Bucks.
The win marked the second time a team has claimed the NBA Cup title. As a result, the Bucks players received a significant bonus, with each player earning $514,971, compared to the Thunder players’ $205,988.
Although the game statistics won’t count toward the regular season NBA records, the Bucks’ victory demonstrates their impressive turnaround this season.
After starting with a disappointing 2-8 record, the team has secured 13 wins in their last 16 games, including Tuesday’s NBA Cup final win.
