Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola is confident that his team will turn around their current run of poor form across all competitions recently.

The Spanish manager believes that their current misfortune is not due to whether the players are bad or not. Instead the players are not performing up to expectations.

“I know we will be back. What I want is my players back, to have the squad”. “The squad is really good, the problem is we didn’t have it! The problem is not that they are good or bad players, it’s not about that, it’s we didn’t have them”.

The reigning Premier League champions have just one win in their last seven league matches. The latest defeat in the league was to city rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

Amad Diallo of Manchester United scores their side's second goal ...

Despite scoring first in the game, the champions fell to a 2-1 defeat at the Etihad courtesy of Bruno Fernandes’ 86th minute spot kick and Amad Diallo’s 90th minute winner.

The champions have just one win in their last 11 matches across all competitions as they travel to Birmingham to take on Aston Villa this weekend.

Manchester City will be without Ruben Dias who is expected to out until the new year after suffering a knock against Manchester United in the derby on Sunday.

The Portuguese defender joins Rodri – who is believed to be the major reason why the champions have been struggling, on the list of injured key players.

The current Ballon D’or recipient got injured against Arsenal in a Premier League fixture at the Etihad in September.

The Spanish midfielder is expected back in the squad towards the latter end of the current football season.
