Former Galatasaray star Umit Karan has criticized Victor Osimhen’s finishing, suggesting that the Nigerian striker lags behind Mauro Icardi in this aspect.
Despite Osimhen’s impressive goal-scoring record, including his 14th goal of the season in Galatasaray’s 1-1 draw against Hatayspor, Karan believes he misses too many easy opportunities.
“Victor Osimhen is an athletic and technical footballer, but he showed that he is behind Icardi in terms of finishing.
“He missed many clear goals. He could not get out of the offside trap,” Karan said on the SkySpor YouTube channel.
Osimhen’s performance against Hatayspor highlighted his finishing concerns, as he had six shots but only managed to get one on target.
Although he scored, he still trails Simon Banza and Krzysztof Piątek in the league’s goal-scoring charts and must start finishing off his chances in clinical fashion to claim the Golden Boot in May.
