I cry daily! Super Falcons’ Nnadozie reveals struggles at Brighton

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has shared some of her off the pitch struggles at her new club Brighton Hove and Albion in the Women’s Super League.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper joined the South Coast club this summer and has had an impressive start with double figures in saves.

Nnadozie has kept two clean sheets in four matches for Brighton – the latest against Toni Payne’s Everton.

However, Nnadozie says she’s had a difficult time adapting to life off the pitch due to loneliness. She revealed that she cries daily as she tries to adjust to her new reality.

Chiamaka Nnadozie revealed that even though her coaches and her new teammates have been helpful, she misses her family a lot.

The former Paris FC goalkeeper shared her thoughts on a recent podcast.

“Since, I moved to Brighton, almost everyday I cry. It’s not really easy because sometimes people just think…What they know is you just come out and play but they don’t really know the struggles behind.

“Just like me, since I moved to Brighton because I feel lonely, I miss my family. Thanks to my teammates, my coaches, they always try to check on me, to make sure I’m okay.”

Nnadozie went on to reveal how the preseason she had with the team helped her after she joined.

“I think the most important thing is to have people who really care about you. That has helped me a lot and going to the preseason with the team also helped me a lot. The unity and everything I saw in the team was really good yeah”

Chiamaka Nnadozie have been on a steady rise over the last few years. The reigning CAF women’s goalkeeper of the year finished fourth in the Women’s Yacine Trophy for best Women’s goalkeeper of the year at the 2025 Ballon d’or Awards ceremony last month.
