The Jordan Football Association (JFA) has officially announced the relocation of its upcoming four-nation international friendly tournament from Amman to Antalya, Turkey.

Originally scheduled to take place in the Jordanian capital, the matches will now be held at a neutral venue due to the current security situation in the Middle East and resulting restrictions on travel and movement.

The tournament, which serves as a critical preparation phase for the participating teams ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, features:

“The Jordan Football Association has decided to move the matches of the four-team international friendly tournament, scheduled for March 2026, to be held in the Turkish city of Antalya, due to the current situation in the region and the limited movement of people,” The Jordan Football Association wrote on their website

Eric Chelle’s side will confront hosts Jordan in their second game on Tuesday, 31 March.

Context and Preparations

The JFA’s decision follows concerns regarding airspace closures and team safety that had briefly led to rumors of the tournament’s cancellation. By moving the event to Turkey, the association aims to ensure the “Nashama” can maintain their momentum as they prepare for their historic first-ever World Cup appearance. Jordan has been drawn into Group J for the 2026 finals alongside Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.

Following this tournament, Jordan is expected to continue its preparations with a training camp in May and June, including scheduled friendlies against Switzerland in St. Gallen and Colombia in San Diego.
