Harry Kane’s hat trick led Bayern Munich to a commanding 6-0 victory over Leipzig in their Bundesliga title defense opener on Friday.
Despite a brief 15-minute spell after halftime where Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa threatened and had a goal disallowed, Bayern dominated.

Michael Olise opened the scoring in the 27th minute and shone in a central role, filling in for the injured Jamal Musiala, before adding a second goal in the 34th, assisted by Serge Gnabry.
Luis Díaz, on his Bundesliga debut, scored in the 32nd minute off a slick move with Kane and Gnabry, and later set up two of Kane’s goals. Kane struck in the 64th, 74th, and 78th minutes, completing his hat trick with clinical finishes.
Vincent Kompany’s four substitutions in the 68th minute offered Leipzig no relief, as Bayern’s relentless attack underlined their championship credentials.
