King Mo! Salah double sinks Cherries to push Liverpool closer to EPL title

Mohamed Salah scored twice to lead Liverpool to a comfortable 2-0 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Arne Slot’s men had a chance to extend their lead over Arsenal at the top of the table to 9 points before the Gunners face Manchester City in Sunday’s action.

Bournemouth had won their last two matches by a combined 9-1 scoreline but replicating those results against this Liverpool team was always going to be a tall order.

The match began promisingly for the hosts, with Antoine Semenyo’s shot crashing against the upright.

However, the tide turned in Liverpool’s favor when referee Darren England awarded a penalty for a foul by Lewis Cook on Cody Gakpo. Salah converted the spot-kick with ease, drilling the ball into the bottom corner.

Salah then sealed the win with a stunning strike, bending the ball into the far corner to end Bournemouth’s 11-game unbeaten league run.

The result sees Liverpool move nine points clear at the top, while Bournemouth remain in seventh spot.
