Nigerian-eligible defender Kingsley Ehizibue has completed his move to Serie A side Genoa, joining the club ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 31-year-old right-back arrives from fellow Italian top-flight club Udinese, where he spent the last four seasons. Genoa confirmed that Ehizibue has signed a multi-year contract with the club after completing his medical examinations.
Ehizibue joined Udinese in 2022 following his spell with Bundesliga outfit FC Cologne. During his time in Udine, he established himself as an experienced option at right-back, making more than 100 appearances for the club.
In the 2025/26 Serie A campaign, he made 32 appearances and scored two goals, playing over 1,900 minutes.
Overall, his time at Udinese yielded 119 appearances, four goals and two assists across all competitions.
The move represents a return to Serie A for Ehizibue, who will now work under Genoa head coach Daniele De Rossi. The club highlighted his pace, athleticism, versatility and familiarity with Italian football as key qualities behind the signing.
Ehizibue is expected to begin training with his new teammates in the coming days as Genoa prepare for the new Serie A campaign.
The defender, who has previously been invited to the Super Eagles, will be hoping his move to Genoa provides another opportunity to push himself back into Nigeria’s international picture.
