Getafe, who ended the match with nine men after two red cards in the second half, battled bravely but were ultimately undone by Mbappe’s clinical finish and Madrid’s control in the closing stages.
Elsewhere, Rayo Vallecano impressed with a commanding 3–0 victory over Levante, showcasing sharp attacking football and relentless pressing.
Celta Vigo and Real Sociedad shared the spoils in a 1–1 draw, while Elche and Athletic Bilbao played out a dull 0–0 stalemate, offering little in attack from either side.
