Liverpool overturned a 1-0 first-leg deficit to reach a record-extending 15th League Cup final, with a 4-0 thumping of Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
Arne Slot’s men are imperious at home but the task was far from straightforward as they trailed from the first leg.
The hosts started on the front foot, and Spurs goalkeeper Antonín Kinský made stops from Mohamed Salah and Darwin Núñez before Liverpool finally struck. Salah’s delivery bounced past Núñez to Cody Gakpo, who fired it into the near bottom corner.
Liverpool looked relentless and the pressure continued as they got their second from the spot through the unstoppable Salah.
They hit the woodwork twice, and Conor Bradley set up Szoboszlai, who slotted into the bottom corner.
Son Heung-min then struck the bar in Spurs’ first real chance of the match, but their misery was compounded as Virgil van Dijk headed in the fourth to put the icing on the cake and send them into the final.
