Luka Dončić is entering a new phase of his NBA career, having undergone a major physical and mental transformation during the 2025 offseason.
After a disappointing season that included injuries, a mid-season trade to the Lakers, and an early playoff exit, Dončić committed to a strict training and diet regimen with the help of his personal wellness team—physiotherapist Javier Barrio, trainer Anže Maček, and nutritionist Lucia Almendros.
Spending the summer in Croatia, Dončić followed an intense two-a-day training schedule, intermittent fasting, and a high-protein, low-sugar, gluten-free diet.
His workouts focused on eccentric force, footwork, deceleration, and full-body strength—especially in the glutes and legs—while incorporating basketball-specific drills and agility work.
Early in the summer, he even took a full month off basketball to let his body recover, replacing it with padel and pickleball to build mobility and reduce stress on his joints.
The visible changes in his physique, leaner, more defined muscles, have drawn attention, and Dončić himself admits he feels better than ever. His goal is to sustain his performance deep into his career, inspired by legends like Dirk Nowitzki, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan.
