Manchester City have joined the race to sign Bournemouth’s £45m-rated left-back Milos Kerkez, setting the stage for a transfer tussle with Liverpool, according to reports.
Liverpool have been seen as the frontrunners for the 21-year-old Hungarian, viewed as a potential long-term replacement for Andy Robertson, but City’s interest has added a new twist.

Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, has Kerkez high on his list, and there have been several discussions with the player’s representatives recently. While Kerkez is open to a move to Anfield, the Reds are yet to make an opening bid.
This has left the door open for City, who are planning a squad overhaul this summer and see Kerkez as a key target. With Josko Gvardiol shifting to a central defensive role and Nico O’Reilly filling in at left-back during the FA Cup final, Pep Guardiola is keen to bring in a specialist left-back.
Bournemouth have set Kerkez’s price at £45m, and with his contract running until 2028 and no release clause, they’re in no rush to sell, but will accept bids meeting the set valuation.
