Moses Simon helpless as Nantes lose at home to gallant Brest

Super Eagles star Moses Simon was unable to inspire his team to victory as Nantes suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Brest.

Relegation-threatened Nantes produced an underwhelming performance at the Stade de la Beaujoire, as Brest earned their third consecutive away league win.

Ludovic Ajorque opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a clinical header, and Pierre Lees-Melou sealed the win with a one-on-one finish in the final minute.

Nantes, who were trying to protect their unbeaten Ligue 1 record in 2025, struggled to create chances, with Pedro Chirivella’s effort from outside the area flying wide.

The win moves Brest above Olympique Lyonnais into seventh, two points adrift of the European places, while Nantes remains just three points above the relegation play-off position.
