The Nasarawa State Government has rewarded the state football teams Nasarawa United for avoiding relegation last season.
According to sources, the the state government gifted the team a sum of N20 million while the supporters club got N5 million.
Nasarawa United won six of their last ten league matches as they finished 12th on the log with 52 points.
Led by former Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf, the Solid Miners competed in the President’s Federation Cup and reached the quarter-finals before losing on penalties to finalist Abakaliki FC.
The Solid Miners’ Anas Yusuf finished as top scorer of the league last season as he bagged 18 goals in 34 matches.
