Former Super Eagles player and head coach Sunday Oliseh has publicly claimed the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) still owes him a significant sum from his time leading the national team.

Speaking on the Home Turf podcast, the 51-year-old—who also notably served as a former Super Eagles captain—revealed that his two months of unpaid salary amount to $26,000. Oliseh detailed the situation, explaining why he has chosen not to pursue the debt legally despite being advised to do so.
“Till today, I am the only Nigerian coach ever to resign,” Oliseh stated, before confirming the outstanding debt. “And till today, they are still owing me two months salary, which is $26,000.”
Oliseh expressed confidence that he would win if he took the case to FIFA, but explained his reluctance to pursue legal action against his home country:
“A lot of people have asked me to take the NFF to court. I will not take my fatherland to a western court. It starts with FIFA and I will win. But when they write it in the media, they will say ‘Oliseh takes Nigeria to court’. They won’t say ‘Oliseh takes NFF to court’.”
Oliseh resigned from his position as Super Eagles coach in 2016, citing contract violations, a lack of support, and unpaid wages
